“These Commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.” Deuteronomy 6:6-8

These verses have changed the way I think about children. There is no “just” raising children. Children are always learning and whatever they are being exposed to is what they are absorbing. As parents, teachers, church members, etc., we are responsible for making sure the children we come in contact with are learning things that are worthwhile.

So, I came up with the idea of Teachable Moments.

They are short stories that are based on different Proverbs in the Bible. The characters in the novel “First Laugh: A Fairy Tale” often make an appearance.

I am nearly done the illustrations on the first book, “The Tale of Lady Byrd” and will post here when it is ready.
